From soy to cow milk formula? is this ok?

my son is 4 months old. When he was 2 months the pediatrician swithched his milk from cow to soy because she claimed that the pimple like skin on his face was an allergic reaction to the cow milk. But he had baby acne.

Now he is eating about 6 oz every 3 hours but he has been spitting the milk alot with LOTS of saliva. I have used Enfamil soy, similac soy and now nestle soy cause he is always very constipated and the doctor recomended to buy the cheapest formula.

The new pediatrician said that the skin rash is not an indicator of any allergic reaction. I now want to switch to the Lipid AR from Enfamil since my son's spitting is getting out of control.

Can this be done?|||Usually once an infant has been put on soy formula they stay on it until they switch to regular milk after they are 1. But, you can always ask your pediatrician if it is ok to switch back to the regular formula.|||Speak to the doctor about this. We're not the ones who have seen your child since birth.

Best to be safest and talk to the doc.|||yes but i would wonder why he is spitting up so much? If he does have reflux or a sensitivity to the formula i cant imagine that going back to cow's milk is going to be any better? I guess you could try, see what happens.|||Switching formulas frequently could be a problem. I'd stick with the soy based formula until he's about 11 months, then I'd slowly do portions of both combos. I know the soy probably smells a little to you, but in the long run, it really is better nutritionally for your son.|||I'd see a lactation specialist. You CAN begin lactating again. It's the best for your baby. Cow's milk is for baby cows. Soy products, while better than Bovine substitutes, are still not optimal for a baby. Many groups feel that the estrogen producing izomes in soy are the cause of early menses and fertility in young girl children. (Most menopause supplements are made from soybeans)

Dark circles around eyes?

How can I get rid of dark circles around my eyes? I'm 17 years old and spend a lot of time on the computer, which is probably why i have this.. also i have skin rash.. so that contributes to it too.. is there a natural way for nice, clean eyes and fixes the skin around them?|||There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11...

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

At least, it worked for me.|||There are a few products that claim to reduce dark circles and people have used slices of cucumber over their eyes for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, most of the time dark circles are the results of genetics.

However, if you're not getting enough sleep or enough sun, they could be temporary. Try getting eight or nine hours a night for a week and spend some time out in the daylight and see if they don't improve. It also does good for your complexion.|||lots of sleep and water. wash, exfoliate, moisturize everyday. cut computer time. benefit eyecon cream works well. there are like a thousand other types of creams out there.|||Here are a few treatments and remedies!

1. Powdered fenugreek and milk are said to tackle dark circles. Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.

2. Freeze grated cucumber. Massage the grated cucumber ice cubes on the eyes.

3. Soak cotton wool in cucumber juice or potato juice %26amp; apply around the eyes.

4. For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eyebright), slightly cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest.

5. To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

6. The best overall eye tonic is eyebright (an herb). Make a tea of it and either use the teabags or soak cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a compress while lying down.

Olay's Regenerist Eye Derma-Pod also really works really well for dark circles around your eyes and bags around your eyes, but its not nautural|||maybe you can try the eye nourisher by Usana. i've used other Usana products and it seems to work, for example their shower gel. makes my skin really smooth. but yeah if one thing works, then maybe the rest works. try the eye nourisher from http://livehappy.usana.com|||check the links below for natural homemade beauty tips to:--Dark circles / Puffiness / Eye bags

Lump in underarm, could this be an ingrown hair?

My boyfriends right underarm was hurting him really bad out of no where a few days ago, and he said that it felt like a bruise of some sort. When he felt it, he felt a large bump almost like a knot. Also, he has no other symptoms of being sick, no lumps anywhere else, he doesn't have any fatigue, no fever, no sore throat, no swollen tonsils, no skin rash, definitely no loss of appetite, no weakness.

The pain, he described was only in that one spot. It was sore to the touch and it just hurt there in general. It looks like a bump beneath the skin, it's rather large, and it feels like a knot.

He's only 16 years old.

Any ideas on what this could be?|||It could be an ingrown hair. Have him put a hot wash cloth in it for a few minutes them squeeze it in a mirror if it is pus will come out and it will feel better. However, squeezing it will probably be very uncomfortable.|||ooo i had that when i was about 16 too..i had it for like a year and then it just disappeared! i dont think its anything to worry about..probably just a sist that will eventually disinegrate|||sounds like a lymph node to me|||It sounds like a swollen lymph node why he has this I am unsure he should tell his parents an go an see he dr about it.|||Go to a medical site and look at the diagrams of lymph nodes. That would be my first guess, a swollen node.|||Could be an ingrown hair, and could also be a zit (gross but possible). It could also be something else. There are glands under your arms, so there might be some problem with them. I'm sure there are many other possibilities, too.

He should probably see a doctor, though, just to make sure it isn't something serious.

Is dermatitis a form of eczema?

I had posted a question earlier today with regard to my 5 month old daughter's skin rash. It is a bumpy rash on her neck, a little behind her ears, a tiny bit on her face, tiny bit on her chest and is also contained on her back. Her pediatrician told me to try cornstarch tonight and if the rash is not gone by tomorrow, I have to bring her in the office. She thinks it's dermatitis. Is that a form of eczema? My daughter is not scratching thankfully.|||I think you have it backwards..

Eczema is a form of dermatitis.. not the other way around..

I have eczema on my elbows and knees...|||Go get a good Dr. Have them check for dermamyosistis

Tiny red point sized dots on my body....?

I thought at first I had scabbies or something but wasn't sure, I don't know much about it except that it's a skin rash of sorts. I did a littler research and pretty much ruled that out of the question because I've had these red dots for 4 months now and no excessive rashes or anything like that have happened. But I did get extremly itchy at night for about 2 months, it went away for a while then came back and currently I do not itch at all during night time. This was one reason I thought it was scabbies.

I have a few dots below my breast area, some on my up legs around the thighs and front and a few scattered up and down both my arms. This isn't a STD of any sorts I know that but it's kind of scary for these dots to be appearing, my boss at work has given me a ride home a few times and I notice she has similar spots around he neck area on the back, does anyone have any idea on what it may be? Thanks....|||hi there...they sound to me like campell de morgan spots, little red spots, the wife has a few and there harmless. ive found you this link on them, check it out..http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/ask_the_doct...|||chicken pox|||There are so many things this could be. Probably you should try to see a dermatologist. If you are into alternative medicine, an acupuncturist who treats with herbs or a homeopath can help.

The extreme itchiness sounds like candida (yeast), but without seeing it no one could really tell you for sure. If you took a pharmaceutical (especially an antibiotic) before the rash appeared then you should seriously consider candida. It can take a while before the symptoms of candida appear, so don't rule it out if it took a month or so after taking the medication before it appeared.

The other avenue to pursue is exposure to industrial chemicals at work. Since you mention that your boss seems to have a rash as well you should consider this. Do you work at a job where you are exposed to industrial chemicals?|||OMG i think i have the same problem. i've had then for like 5 months, tiny pin-sized red dots, i think they are blood. i stratched a few and the red dissappered and then came back in one second. I had the same ichiness at night before i found them. I seriously have no clue what they are. I'm 16.|||Aged spots,,,,|||It could be caused from being exposed to the liquid bleach or being around the fumes and breathing them in, when I read your question, it made me think about how certain kinds of manufactured bleach can cause such spots, mexican bleach has a something in it that really cleans out the dirt and grime in clothese, that other brands do not seem to have, but if this bleach is not completly washed out of the clothes, then the residue remaining behind in the clothes can cause this type of skin irritation to appear.

I would recommend that you stay clear of bleach, the fumes and if washing with it, chose perhaps Woolite instead of the detergent your now using to wash your clothes with, and see if after three months whether or not these red dots go away.

Sometimes, mixing household chemicals together, say for washing clothes with tends to create fumes that if breathed, can create health problems for you. You must be very careful when using different types of chemicals together around the house, some do not mix well with others and some can even give off poisonous gasses that will do great damage to your lungs.

Maybe manufacturers should start including such information on their labels, as to warn the consumer that this particular product does not mix well with xxxx or xxxx, and does mix wll with xxxx or xxxx

Hope this helps solve the problem you are having.|||It could be psoriasis. When they're little round red spots, it's called psoriasis guttata.

Does someone in your family have psoriasis?

Did you get it after having (or during) pharyngitis or fever? Those are the most common ways for the psoriasis to break out.

A lot of people have got psoriasis (so do I), your boss could have it too, when it resembles a lot.

I hope you find out soon what it is, and good luck!

Allopurinol?

My son who is 29 yrs old has gout from 2 yrs.He started taking allopurinol 100 mgs on oct 19th 06 increasing the dose to 200mgs on 13thnov.He saw dryness at first and later rash on his face for the last 3 weeks. In the past he tried to control the gout attacks with colchicine and indocin but was still getting frequent attacks in all big joints. My question is the skin rash a serious reaction to stop the drug and is it a precursor to other side effects. Please advise.|||Side effects of Allopurinal -

Please read the excerpts from Wikipedia on allopurinal -

The side effects of high levels of precursors are usually minor. A small percentage of people develop a rash and must discontinue this drug. The most serious adverse event is a hypersensitivity syndrome consisting of fever, skin rash, eosinophilia, hepatitis, and worsening renal function. In some cases, allopurinol hypersensitivity syndrome.-

Accordingly you should stop giving allopurinol immediately and consult your doctor for alternative drug to be given. With out doctors advise do not give any medicine. This is very important-.|||How much area does the rash cover? Even so, you should contact your physician immediately.

Listed in Taber's Drug Guide:

Allopurinol (Adverse effects)

Dermatologic: Rashes - Maculopapular, scaly or exfoliative - sometimes fatal. (The guide lists this entry under the 'Life Threatening' column.)

Maculopapular - A rash that has both flat stained regions (macules) and small elevated bumps or pimples papules).

Papule - A small bump or pimple typically larger than a grain of salt that may range in color from pale, to yellow, red, brown, or black.

Macule - A flat spot on the skin whose color may be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin. (Example freckles)

Septra-DS, how long to get it out of my system?

I've developed a skin rash after using Septra-DS. This rash reminds me a lot of the ones I used to get because of tetracycline family. I even told my doctor I'm allergic to those. Is Septra-DS related to tetracycline?

Also, how long does it take for an antibiotic to leave your system and get rid of any reaction like this one? It makes me sooo mad!|||Septra DS (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim) is not related to tetracycline so please make sure your doctor and pharmacist note on your file that you are allergic to both drugs. Since Septra DS is a combination of 2 drugs you could be allergic to either component. It will take approximately 72 hours for the sulfamethoxazole to clear your system and 84 hours for the trimethoprim.

My lil dog pork Chop has B.O. i wash Him once a week.?

And now he has a skin rash. I have shampoo from the vet for his skin and it helps the rash but not the stink!!!!

I feel bad for him but he always smells like fritos.. And so does my carpet if i dont fabreez it ALOT!!

HELP|||He is getting a bath far too much, but I understand you're trying to get rid of the smell. They should never ever be washed more often that once every two weeks,,,,it would be even better if it was once a month....for the smell,,,,Dogs can get a yeast infection on their skin, in their ears,and/or on their feet. It has a horrible smell. Most vets notice this right off, and treat for yeast. If the yeast isn't stopped, it can turn into a bacterial infection, that is even stinkier and harder to clear up. When you wash too often, it takes away the natural oils and good bacteria from the skin, and can allow yeast to run rampant. They need these oils and good bacteria to keep the skin healthy. Talk to your vet about the stink, and ask about skin fungus and/or infection. If they want to blow it off and not pay attention to you, see another vet. Smelly ears are infection and/or yeast....smelly feet are fungus and/or skin infection,,,smelly skin (even after a bath) is fungus, yeast and/or skin infection. Super smelly mouth is a rotten tooth, or abscessed tooth. Go back to the vet armed with this info and these questions, if you don't get relief for your dog,,,, go to another vet.|||try changing his diet-that may help-by this I mean a different type/brand of dog food|||First of all doggie paws smell like fritos!!! Get used to it! Second, washing fido once a week is HORRIBLE for his skin...

So now you don't only smell frito paws but you also smell wet dog on your carpet! That is a yucky combination... So try washing him once a month (if you must)... keep him brushed and well groomed, make sure his ears are free and clear of any dirt or oil (dirty ears can smell BAD). Also make sure he has nice breath (fruit based treats with apples or berries work wonders for that).

dogs smell like... well... dogs...|||aww sorry for that frtos smell (hehe) wats B.O. ??? u should only wash him once a month! dont u know????|||Again, corn smell is either fungal infection or pseudomonas infection -- both a huge problem. If the shampoo isn't eliminating the problem fairly fast, he needs to go back to the vet or you need to locate a dermatologist vet specialist and have the dog properly treated. Good luck...|||it sounds like your dog has very bad sickness if he starts peeing blood i would consider putting him down because it can make the people in your home sick if he starts peeing blood

Frequently getting sick?

In the last six months I've gotten a cankersore almost every month and also skin rashes and fatigue to go along with them. Now I'm a big worry wart and I have OCD and anxiety and keep fearing I have HIV even though I haven't engaged in any behaviors that can result in the acquisition of the virus. Does anybody know if some people are more prone to getting the same type of virus over and over again? Also, is there something I could be doing to continue picking up these more minor, opportunistic viruses? Can the fact that I've been an anxiour person for a long time be the main contributor to my weakened immune system? FYI, it's the same god damn cold that I keep getting, the exact same symptoms. I'm not getting any other viruses. I haven't gotten fevers. It's just the same virus: first a cankersore, then fatigue and then, sometimes, skin rash.|||well stress can do this also do you have any mold and mildew in your home have you been thru katrina alot of us here in mississippi are having similar symptoms hope you feel better also when you described your cold as the same /// one you used the Lords name and thats wrong please do not do this thanks

Home-made remedies to cure eczema?

I have pretty bad eczema sometimes. It's basically a bad irritated skin rash. I have prescribed medicinal cream (mometasone I think) but it's in a very small jar and isn't meant to be used much - even on large rashes. I also have a really good natural moisturizer (Glysomed) and I really recommend that for dry, cracked skin but it doesn't do much on my eczema and I have it pretty bad but not enough to break out the medicine. So got any tips or homemade recipes to cure eczema? Anything will help thanks I don't think I can stand the itching any longer!|||Hello, Skittles. The best remedy that works for my eczema is the cream and spray from http://www.champori.com It is natural (herbal) and free of steroids. It is - I am sure - home-made. - Use soap sparingly.

- Don't be abrasive, avoid scrubbing the skin.

- Avoid detergents, cleansers and solvents.

- Avoid to much alcohol.

- Choose unscented skin care products.

- Watch out diet and have balanced diet with fruits and vegetables.

- Avoid smoking and alcohol drinking

- Avoid scratching the affected area.

- Keep fingernails short.

HELP|||Sounds like thats the only thing you can really do for him is to wash him in what the vets provided to you. Dogs have very irritable skin. You can buy a spray that is 100% all natural and is good for their skin...maybe try that..and lay off the freebreeze that could be causing him to have a rash.|||Never wash you dog once a week. That is way too much. I would say once a month should be good. If you are stripping the oils out, the skin reacts to producing more oils.

the smell could be from the food you are using, or other internal problems. some dogs that come out of a shelter smell for MONTHS !! The skin can absorb smells, and then it takes a long time got get it cleaned out of the skin.

You could see you vet again, and see if there is any medical problems. I would switch to a higher quality food, and keep shampooing and conditioning and see what happens

Have you got any specialist vets for skin diseases and allergies? It's worth see one. I have had problems with two of my Pointers.|||It sounds like hot spots. Pet stores have hot spot spray that you can use on a daily basis. I would limit the baths to every 2 weeks because overbathing will dry out the skin even more. You can also try using a human leave in hair conditioner and spray that on every 2 days and rub it in.|||Ok. What are you feeding your dog? Check the ingredients and if you see by products, or things such as chicken meal, or corn THROW IT OUT. Corn and corn gluten meal (basically same thing) are the main cause of skin allergies. My dog had this same exact problem. Please e-mail me if the food is the problem and I can recommend good holistic foods, and help you through the transition of changing food etc etc. My e-mail is baby_7991@yahoo.com If you have Yahoo! Instant Messenger, my screen name is baby_7991|||go 2 the vet|||You might want to start your dog on a raw diet. She could be reacting, in part, to her diet. Wheat, corn are common ingredients in dog food which dogs are sometimes allergic to. Here's a site with info on raw feeding:

http://www.rawdogranch.com

Did any of the Vets suggest a treatment, like a cortisone shot? Or any supplements to her diet? Also, I am surprised they told you to bathe her in a warm bath. I have two dogs with sensitive skin and they get cool baths. One gets a cortisone shot once a year around the beginning of summer.

Dogs can be allergic to fleas, too, and break out like that and then itch and tear themselves up-even if they only have a flea or two on them.

What did the Vets suggest you do besides warm baths? I'd think they would have suggested a specific sort of shampoo.

My dog's skin looked the best with the raw diet, but after moving I now have little freezer space so they eat Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice.

Sometimes you have to see which food your dog takes to best, but watch common allergens mentioned above.

Overbathing is bad too, and bathing more than once a week if that is what the Vet told you to do, could be irritating her skin further.

My dogs also take supplements for skin and coat incl:

3VCaps, Skin formulation for dogs- has Omega 3, Vit A, D and E in it.

AND, NutriVed- Roast Beef flavored- for skin and coat.

You can get Ester-C for dogs, in large pet stores in their vitamin and supplement section. It helps bolster the immune system. Hope your dog gets better soon.|||I have a dog that seems to have the same symptoms. After many visits to the vets and home remedies he has been diagnosed with flea allergies. We used to give him weekly flea baths but it didn't help. Finally we put him on advantage monthly flea drops(you can get them from the vet or major pet store)and some cortisone spray and hes a new dog!|||Hi you have been given good advice with the dog food..now I have 1 more...the shampoo itself, my dog Charlotte went on for almost 6 years of itching every summer when we almost always give them more baths. Well 1 day I ran out of her shampoo and use'd my natural soap. Well you can guess my surprise when se stopped itching!!! Now I preach it....itching may be due to dog shampoo..there is lots of soap out there try it. Dog shampoos have lots of chemicals.|||I really would try baby7991 suggestions. there could be something in the food, my guess is that you already have gone thru your list of possiblities. Do you feed table food?seasons for animals can be dangerous. check sleeping area. use sheets instead of something that would make the dog to warm.I would make him a cool place to sleep to help reduce the itching.lots of cool baths/etc. as for the warm baths, I'm sure its to help bring out the infection in the hopes of reducing it. so try first the warm bath as the vet suggested than the cool bath after. Put some cortizone ointment on infectd areas. Now you say you have 2 other dogs, do they have the same conditions?if so than check in all common areas all dogs are using/eating/playing in.etc. If not, than go over what that one dog does in the day, places he went that others had no contact. Just anything different. After all we are the ones who knows our dogs better than anyone else. We learn to read them so to speak. I have 3 dogs myself had to nurse one recently back from almost dying.I would try just about anything my heart felt would help and be comforting.since it isn't mange, what did the vet say it could be?research that, find what seems similar to your dog, and go from there.I wish you the best and would like to know what worked when you find it, for you will.

Side effects of my medicines. Are they curing or causing my problems?

I am on the following medication:-

Bendroflumethiaze

PlavixClopidogrel

Simvastatin

Finasteride

Loratadine

My symptoms are:

Dizziness, Fainting,Drowsiness, Slight nausea, Skin rash, Prostrate.

Studing the leaflets supplied with these medicines nearly all of them have side effects of dizziness, vertigo, fainting, nausea, drowsiness and skin rash. These are the symptoms I'm suffering for which I have been prescribed these medicines. I'm confused. Are these medicines treating my illness or causing my problems? Can some kind medical doctor tell me whats going on.|||As youve stated yourself, you are just unfortunately geting some of the side effects. Not everyone gets them, its worth checking with your doctor to see if he can switch some of your meds for an alternative.

Also in response to an above comment about natural remedies - dont go messing with them if you dont know about them, some natural remedies can cause more problems than they cure. Also, most medicines today are derived from plants etc, so are already 'natural'.

A lot of people wrongly assume that herbal remedies are harmless, well they arent if you dont know what you are doing, and you certainly shouldnt try and self-medicate with them without knowing what you are taking. Even herbal natural remedies have side effects.

Go and talk to your doctor about your side effects, but please dont stop taking them, You are taking tablets for cholesterol, high blood pressure, and to prevent heart problems, so for gods sake dont stop taking them, ask your doc of there are alternatives you can try, the finasteride causes most problems in people, and i know why you could be taking them, but if its for the other reason, ie hair loss, it may be worth giving that one up!

You dont say how long you have been taking them, so please remember that quite often side effects will go after the first few weeks, so if youve only just started taking them, give them a chance to settle in.

I expect you have to have regular BP checks, so next time you are at your docs, mention the side effects and see what he says. The only problem is if you are only just starting to take these tablets, it can take a while to get the medication correct, which is why you have your BP checked, so you may just have to suffer with them for a while while the doctor tweaks your dosage.

Also,. dont drink grapefruit juice. It inteferes with the simvastatin, reducing its effectiveness. Honest!|||With all the drugs you are taking I'd suggest you go to your pharmacist, they are very helpful, when I started having to take more I'd always check just to make sure.|||I'm not a Doctor but at a guess i'd say that i'm not surprised you are having side effects from the huge list of medication your taking.. I'm a great believer in natural methods.Think about this, Do you REALLY need to take all those?|||i am guessing that you have heart trouble as i recognise some of these drugs my husband is on some very similar ones you don't say how long you have been taking them for but these symptoms should stop after you have been on them for a while if you have been taking them for a number of months now %26amp; still getting these effects go %26amp; see your gp tell them everything it maybe that you need a blood test %26amp; a reduction on the milligrams you are taking good luck hope you get it sorted|||In a recent study it was found that doctors never listen to people's complaints about side effects from drugs even when the side effects are known. Go back to your GP and ask the question and don't leave until you are satisfied with the answer.

Dermatitis?

My son have a skin rash last week and the doctor said it might be scabies but I have been in my new apartment for one year and I know how scabies and bed bugs bites look like so I didn't believe that. That is to find out what is it that exactly what he has. And on the referral I saw that they put diagnosis "dermatitis". Hi. Due to chemotherapy I had a very early menopause ?

And it was fine for 5 years. Now I am experiencing horrible skin rashes. I think they are caused by lack of oestrogen.

I have been to numerous dermatologists who can't help me.

"Prurigo Nodularis" was the official verdict ... cause unknown; no cure.

My rash is always only on my right arm, then goes to my back. Sometimes my chest.

2 years now. Always clears up in summer (humidity? exposure to the sun?)

I thought I was rid of it but now it is back before the old scars have even healed.

I believe it is hormonal.

I hate tofu and I hate natto. I eat about 100 gms - 200 gms of soy beans every day but it is not helping.

Any ideas on other food that will control my hormones?

I also believe that the lack of oestrogen makes my skin really dry, so I use any moisturiser I can, from Vaseline to brand body soothers. No change.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.|||I see a rash as a symptom, and while we want to just put something on top of it, to relieve the itch or dryness, etc. Doing this won't cure the rash. So if it were me, I would try to find out what might be the cause.

Rashes to me are a sign that toxins, bacteria, excess stress, etc., are being pushed out of the body. They show me that the body tries to heal and come to a homeostasis. Rashes that don't clear up mean that the cause is left untreated.

Because the rash only occurs on one area of your body, then this might be a sign of a part of your body that is blocked, on either side of where the rash is occuring. The rash erupts in the blocked area of your body, as a way to expel some toxin, because the normal way it would be eliminated is blocked. Because it's on the right side, then this might indicate there is some blocking in the path of the liver. The meridian of the liver (Gall Bladder and Liver), can be treated with acupressure or acupuncture. You might also try a 'liver cleanse' to move out gallstones and liver stones.

It's possible that a chinese medic could help to diagnose where the problem lies, and treat you to clear this up.

Another possibility of rashes is an emotional reason, so things like EFT (Emotional freedom technique) might help.

Another possibility of rashes is a virus in that area of the body. Now, I know this sounds weird, but it works and it's easy to do. Take an idaho or brown russet potatoe and slice it into thick slices and fry it in a pan with oil. Don't flip the slices. When the peeling on the outside of the potatoe slice starts to loosen, then it's done. The potatoe will be partially cooked. Put the warm slices over the area of your body, covering every inch, then on top of this put on towel to hold in the heat. Keep this on for around 1 hour, then wash the area of the body with sea salt water, about 10% salt to water. This can eliminate virus from the skin. Repeat if needed.

As far as topical, I think fresh aloe vera is the best to apply to heal the skin. In not in an area where it grows, you can go to a nursery and buy a plant.

Betsy|||don't tell me about the menopause its a night mere Ive changed so much anyway i think ask your Dr for patches to replace what you don't have or ask the Dr to See some one to help you or boots pharmacy is good but try and try till you get what you need|||hi, i am only 15 but i know somethings about chemos and menopause. my mother had breast and brain cancer and was going through chemos and menopause at the same time.... hope helped a little bit.|||I know my eczema is much better in the summer, I think central heating dries my skin, plus not having the exposure to sunlight makes things worse. I've found E45 as good as anything. Have you considered hrt patches, even for a short while? And Aloe Propolis cream is supposed to be good for skin conditions, might be worth a try if you haven't already.

Male external genetalia itch problem, need help!?

My skin rash pretty much started when I was in 7th-8th grade, approx. 14 yrs. old, I am 29 now. It is on my groin, specifically on my scrotum and the underside shaft of my penis, it itches very severely. It seems like when I scratch there seems to be dead skin comming off like it were dandruff. Anyway, I have been to several dermatologists and doctors, all have prescribed medicine, and none have worked. Maybe some worked momentarily, but the medicine would ware off. I had several skin biopsy’s, none of which actually detected an allergy. No doctor could give me an exact diagnosis.

I've tried everything like switching underware, using unsented detergent, eating organic fruits and vegetables, applying dry skin lotions and aloe, using otameal or aloe vera soap, and taking fish oil. Not sure what else to do. Any suggestions, thoughts, reccomendations, diagnosis, similar problems?

I really apprecite your time to read this and reply if you can.

Thank you.|||psoriasis might be a concern does it ever bleed? with the skin flaking, other than that all I can think of is allergies and lord know you could be tested for a million things and find it's the million and one, my Dad had a three cream treatment he used every day fist vitamin E oil rub it on then bag balm rub that on then eucerin cream. My younger 18 year old sister has an undiagosed kind of dermatitis???

Two years ago my sister developed a skin rash that spread from the outer part of her right hand to about two inches above her wrist. At first the rash was very itchy, and had the appearance of a "weeping, reddish kind of rash" but within the last several months it has dried up and stopped itching. Shehas been to several dermatologists but they all give her very expensive creams and other medications which have done no good at all. She even had a biopsy taken, but they found nothing. We are from a small town on the east coast.. We are looking for a specialist. even if we have to go to New York. (No other part of her body is affected.)(She was hospitalized when all of this first happened on 3 different occasions! The last incorrect diagnosis was something like "sebhorric (sp) dermatitis" But the last two dermatologists said that wasn't the correct diagnosis. They too were unable to diagnose this very strange rash.)

Does anyone PERSONALLY know of a specialist in the field of dermatology|||it's psoriasis probably. stress brings it on. try an anti anxiety medication with your cortisone cream. most physical illnesses have mental roots! i reccomend a low dose of effexor. good luck.

What is this called?

I have a slight skin rash on my arms and legs. I haven't been in the outdoors and I don't have any past history of similar symptoms. I went to the doctor and he told me that it was a "viral rash" which is caused when you get over a fever. This would make sense since I just had a fever last week. He said there wasn't a cure and that I should take Benadryl if the rash is bothering me. He also mentioned that it's pretty harmless and will go away in a week or so.

My dilemma now is that I don't know what it's called. I remember that it was referred to as a viral rash but what is the technical term? I just want to know so I can look it up on WebMD and get a better idea of what it is I'm dealing with, in case it shows up if I ever get sick again.|||I think if you visit the source below, some of your skin rash questions can be answered - strep rash, strep throat rash, etc.|||could it be an exanthem? i have heard of that term before for rashes|||Just call up your doctor and ask, and while you're at it, ask about what you should do in the future. Why doesn't Mangoes have a warning label?

Why doesn't stores place a warning label for Mangoes? Mango skin contains Urushiol Oil, which is the oil contained in Poison Ivy that causes the allergic skin rash. So if you're allergic to poison ivy, you are allergic to mango skin. I didn't know this until I ate a mango and got poison ivy rash on my mouth and face. :(|||Why don't a lot of foods have warning labels on them? lots of people are allergic to lots of things. My aunt was highly allergic to shell fish! Is there a warning that shrimp can cause anaphalactic shock?? No!!

We all must be careful not to eat or touch anything we know we are allergic to. To find out the way you did is bad, but most people find out they are allergic to things this way.|||I am highly allergic to poison oak. I lived for two years in Africa and frequently ate mangoes with no problem at all!

Can Lotion Cause you to itch more???

i have a very good moisturizer lotion that does not cause skin rashes or any irritation. it's medicated, Jergens, which is not unhealthy. my skin looks and feels fine. but i am itchy. haha, sorry to over share, but i have a question. could the lotion be making me itch more? even though there is no rash? or is it just dry skin from the winter?? because i'm worried it's possibly my clothes or something. sorry to be so forward, but if anyone has an answer that would be great!

and to clarify, it's not new lotion, or new laundry soap. I've been using both for a long time with no problems. any possible ideas for what's the deal??|||prob an active ingrediant in the lotion but if u have used it for a while with no problems then prob some material of clothing or somethign different in ur diet taht makes ur skin more vunerable to catching bacteria|||It could be a build up of skin layers. Maybe you could try exfoliating and using a lighter lotion. Hope that helps.

Rashes all over body?

My friend yesterday developed skin rashes all over the body accompanied by itchiness and swelling of the face etc..

He is on a diet plan and hence is having only home made food and clear soups..He had nuts also..Can you pls suggest any remedy and let me know what is the cause of this ailment|||You mentioned he had nuts to eat. Make sure he isn't allergic. The stuff about face swelling sounds bad. He really should go to a doctor as soon as possible.|||Dude... that sounds like a food allergy.

He should go to the doctor and have an allergy test done.|||Uh-oh!!! A lot of people are allergic to nuts, maybe your friend is one of them. Seek immediate medical attention. This could be fatal!!! :-)

Asthma and rashes , are they linked?

I have found over time that my Asthma is worse when my rashes are better and vice versa.

From lately when I sneeze, my cough has bad odour. I want to know what's wrong?

I am 56 yrs. 5' 7.5", weigh 86 kgs. veg. Indian. I am fond of sweets but discarded sweet foods from last 5 weeks. After 3 weeks, I started suffering of irritable skin rash. I took some sweet food, it did reduce the rash. My water intake too might have been low for addiction to internet. I started taking more water. I sit on comp nearly whole day and do not go out for days. I feel, I have cold when I have rash which usually last for an hour or two. The rash has practically gone. I don't know whether my rash cause cold or cold cause rash. I am worried, am I heading for a big sickness. Answers from doctors or people from medical field will be highly appreciated.|||it could be a number of things. i would go to the Dr. and have him check you out. do you smoke? if so and sometimes even if you don't it could be bronchitis. i know when i have bronchitis my cough really smells bad cause of the infection in my lungs, so i would go to the Dr. and let him check you out. or go to http://www.webmd.com/ you might get answers there.|||see the dentist ,and check what you eat it could also come from your stomach.|||You could have a throat, lung or sinus infection= sometimes w a cough it is drainage from the sinuses and it does not smell good when infected- rinse your sinuses w salt water=every four hours- run it in one nostril and let it run out the other or out your mouth- vitamin C helps- and vitamin E- and you could see a doctor-D|||I think that you are getting dehydrated, like you said. If you sit for hours/days on the 'net, you aren't drinking water, not talking, not salivating, really. Drink at least six glasses of water daily.

Be sure to floss TWICE a day, am/ pm and brush your tongue well when you brush your teeth.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Drink one cup of tea daily and eat some yogurt.

Try to get out and at least walk around the block twice. It will help get our heart/lungs going and get rid of some of the gunk being stored in your body tissue from not exercising.

GOOD LUCK.

Or see a doctor. You sound depressed, as well.|||Neither I am a Dr. nor Im from medical field. The inf I am

giving u based solely on past experience. The system of

bad odour is generally from your wind pipe, which has

got sputum due to your catching cold. I strongly recommend you to drink several times warm water, each

time atleast 8 oz or even more and with this your sputum may come out from mouth. Sometime, anti boitic is nece.

The best solution is that you visit either Chest Dr.or ENT. I

feel, your problem is still on initial stage but don't delay

and visit dr. soon. If you are unable to find Chest/ENT,

visit matured/experienced GP, who can also solve ur

problem but dear don't delay and move fast. Try to avoid

sweet items, fried items and even sweet fruits, e.g. apple,

banana, etc. Don't eat chocolates. Repeating, warm water, several times a day, would help you a lot but the best %26amp; long time solution is dr. Good Luck.|||first of all you are obese second inactivity third fond of sweets. Rashes which has been relieved by consumption of sweets is strange. just go through basic blood investigations eg TLC with DIFFERENTIAL COUNTS, LFT, KFT, fasting blood and lipid profile, URINE and STOOL ANALYSIS. In your case just quit sitting and go to village with fresh air and unpolluted water and do yoga.

What could this be?

I have a six month old son. The other day, I noticed he had a sort of rash on his back. You couldn't really see it, but you could feel it. Over the next couple of days, it also appeared on his legs, chest/stomach, and a tiny bit on his face. The last check-up we had at the pediatrician, he had broken out on his face only. She determined that he had severely sensitive skin. It doesn't seem to bug him much, and he has had a few low grade fevers. But he has a cold at the same time, as well as he's getting his second tooth. So I don't know whether the fever is just coming with the cold/teething or if it's associated with the rash. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? I plan to take him to the doctor, but I'm kind of flipping out(just a little!) and would like to hear if anyone else has had this happen. I looked up skin rashes on webmd.com and none of them sounded like what he has. Could it possibly be eczema? Any input would help, maybe calm my nerves a little. Thanks in advance|||Don't panic. Babies, in general, have sensitive skin. Depending on the climate you live in, it could be the heat, the cold, etc. Take him to the dr. and I am sure they can diagnose whatever it is, or at least make recommendations to you. I'm assuming, and this might be a silly question, that you are using baby detergent? And also trying a double rinse in the wash cycle? You will prbably get some sort of cream from the doctor, but I don't think its anything to be considerably worried about. But, I, along with other mother's would feel the exact same way!|||My son had THE SAME thing! For months he had this rash! I did everything I could. I used baby detergent on ALL of our clothes, NO dryer sheets, but nothing really worked. Eventually he grew out of it. All I could really come up with was the weather changes. Winter time, skin gets dry, Summer time heat rash. . . He sounds just fine to me. Hope this helps.|||look kids bodies are crazy they react to everything hes probably getting hits teeth and his body is responding to a foreign object witch is his teeth.also check for asmath

thats the sign i got when my son had and attach so take him to the doctor and tell them to check his breathing twice|||You might want to stop using the new fabric softener and see if that helps. If not, try using the detergent made for babies. Maybe he's on his back a lot more, maybe it's the fabric. maybe he's alergic to it. It could be so many things from creams and lotions to soap you wash him with or his clothes. Just start eliminating them one by one and see what changes. I don't think it is serious tho, most kids have some sort of rash some time or another.|||My babies had this same thing. Patches of rashes that you couldn't really see. It also used to be just on the face, then patches on the back and they sometimes got bigger. It was eczema. Their doctor prescribed them some elidel and it worked great!|||This happened with my daughter last winter. Does his skin feel dry to you? My daughter had dry skin with tiny bumps that were slightly pink. It changed from different parts of her body. The doctor said he thought it was eczema caused by the air being dry. He said it would clear up as the weather got warmer and he was right. In the meantime, the doctor told me to use cortizone cream on it, and it seemed to ease it up a bit then. Cortizone is a steroid, so I was to use it only once a day. I usually put it on her after her bath. Check with your doctor about using this, because my daughter was just over a year old when this happened. I am not sure if it would be safe to use on a six month old or not. Good luck to you.|||2 of my children got a similar rash for a few months while they teething, I would AVOID any cortisone creams (my opinion) my eldest daughter ended up with eczema about 4 year of age and prolonged use of it has left her skin blotchy (she's 11 now) Good luck!!|||My daughter is now 2 years old and we have been dealing with this for almost the whole time. Whether it has been in winter or summer she still has the rash. The doctor has prescribed her an ointment to put on her called Hydrocort. We have also found that Cetaphyl Lotion (even the generic) works very well. Cetaphyl also has a bath soap that you can use and that also has helped. When you bathe your son make sure the temp of the water is on the cooler side of warm, the hotter the water the more it will dry out your sons skin.

Hope this has helped!!!|||When my children have developed a rash on their skin, I have tried a combination of things, and their rashes always cleared up.

If I thought it was reaction to something that was touching their skin, I would:

Change laundry detergent to one with no dyes and no perfumes.

Stop using fabric softener (which has dyes and perfumes).

No lotions or powders on their skin (again avoiding dyes and/or perfumes).

Only bathe baby with water - soap is not needed. If baby does need to be cleaned with more than just water every so often, ivory soap works well, but again, this would be very seldom.

Rubbing pure olive oil or almond oil on baby after bath can help.

Rubbing rash areas with a little flax oil (which is full of good essential fatty acids) has been helpful for some babies.

Give them some vitamin C to help reduce inflammation (with an infant, I would use the powdered vitamin C in a little apple juice, or, more recently, I will put some Emergen-C in water, and only allow them to drink ¼ of it at a time (4 doses throughout the day) to bowel tolerance. If they got diarrhea from too much vitamin C, I would just back off on the amount of Vitamin C I was giving. 1 Packet of Emergen-C has 1,000 mg. of Vitamin C. You can get this at health food / vitamin stores, Trader Joe’s, Raleys – most grocery stores with a vitamin or natural foods department. When my little ones are on vitamin C, their urine becomes more acid, so I need to change their wet diapers more frequently.

If I thought the rash might be food related, I started with looking at the Blood Type Diet. There is a book called “Eat Right 4 Your Baby”. It has excellent suggestions for which foods to introduce when, according to baby’s blood type. Certain foods can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. You can probably get this book at your local library, or Eat Right 4 Your Type or Living Right 4 Your Type. They are all authored by Dr. Peter D’Adamo. Here’s a link to the book on Amazon.

You may be able to find a natural alternative to cortisone. You don’t want to use cortisone if at all possible. It can build up to toxic levels in the body, over time.

If you are nursing, then you should look at the blood type diet for yourself to see if there is possibly something you are eating that would bother baby. Everything you ingest goes into your breast milk.

My Blood type A baby reacted to the cow milk products I was eating. He developed a stuffy nose when he was just a few weeks old, and the doctor gave him a decongestant – thought he had a cold. However, the stuffy nose continued for many weeks, and then someone gave me a copy of Eat Right 4 Your Type, and I looked at what causes congestion in a Blood Type A person, and it’s cow milk products. I stopped eating dairy products, and baby’s congestion cleared right up. Every so often I would try re-introducing dairy back into my diet, and baby always got a stuffy nose again, so I avoided dairy for 2 ½ years, while I nursed him. It’s just a good example of how what Mama eats goes into the breast milk, and can affect baby.

If baby is on formula, then trying a different formula may help. Also, formula fed babies can be defficient in essential fatty acids, so possibly a little flax seed oil mixed into applesauce would help the rash to clear up.

If baby is nursing, mom should be sure she is getting enough essential fatty acids in her diet. Cod liver oil or some other fish oil is great, and flax oil is good too. I take 1T of flax oil a day, and I'm nursing my toddler.

From experience, when I noticed my babies getting cradle cap, I started taking flax oil, and because that raised the essential fatty acids in my breast milk, baby's cradle cap cleared up.

Just a few suggestions from a mother of 5 :-)

I have rashes for 2 months though i took anti histamine already it keeps on coming out on my skin.?

I've had something for a few years. Nothing works, makes it worse. :S|||Diagnosing eczema is not easy, and requires a visit to a physician. Only a physician can determine whether or not a skin rash is caused by eczema based upon the patient's recent medical history and family history, as well as a physical examination of the skin rash.

Talk to your doctor if you have:

A skin rash that itches

A skin rash that is patchy, bumpy, or scaly

A skin rash that first appeared before the age of 5

A skin rash that appears on different parts of your body, depending on your age (for example, a skin rash on the face, elbows, or knees in babies)

A skin rash that tends to flare up, then go away for a while before coming back again

Personal or family history of asthma, hay fever, or eczema

Very dry skin

Very sensitive skin

These symptoms can vary from person to person and may change over time. That's why your healthcare provider may want to see you and examine your skin rash more than once. Your healthcare provider also needs to know:|||i had a rash the doc told me was a yeast infection. it covered most of my upper body. he told me to cover infected parts with selsun blue for 3 nights. it worked.|||did you try hydrocortisone cream?

there's OTC or you can get stronger prescribed stuff from your dr.

also try corn huskers oil, milk, yogurt, avocado, carrot pulp, etc. on your skin--may help|||I had a bad rash too, it was worse when I got overheated and perspired. I thought it was an allergy too. As it turns out, it was a form of a yeast type fungal infection. There are several things that can help a fungus grow, warm moist opportunistic areas for the bacteria to grow and irritate the area.

I would itch and break out in a rash! I was fortunate enough to run out of the usual topical ointments some over the counter some perscription, there was nothing left in the house but some more perscription antihistamines (pills) and I swear they turn me into a slug! Or some cream for a vaginal yeast infection (the 7 day kind that comes with a tube like applicator)...

I had squeezed every tube of cream/ointment topical preparation dry, yes there were refills, but it was 10:00pm, and my pharmacy is NOT a 24 hour pharmacy. I could have run out to Walgreens or Walmart and got some more antihistamine or cortisone creams, but I was in agony with the itch, the pain from having scratched, just the scratching seemed to only make the rash more angry and it seemed to make it spread, I was in a bad way. So I thought, irritated vagina, VERY irritated skin...maybe this vaginal yeast infection product will help some with the itching, so I cleaned the area well with a gentle soap and warm water, rinsed and dried it thoroughly and slathered on some of the Vaginal Yeast Infection cream! Guess what, it made the terrible itch ease off some, the next morning the rash seemed to look better, so after my shower, I dried the area real well and put on some more of the yeast infection cream! I did this for 7 days, as if I was treating a vaginal infection, and by the end of the 7th day I no longer had a rash!

Now I am guessing that different fungi may need different treatment, but this one worked for my rash, when nothing the doctor ever gave me helped (except for the kick butt antihistamines for hives and severe itching). It has reoccured once, and I did another round of treatment on it, and it's currently gone again! Cleaning the affected areas with witch hazel after perspiring, and allowing the area to dry before reapplying the cream, seems to have made it work better for me.

Good luck, I lived with the tortures of a rash that would not go away and itched like hell for a long time, when I finally got desperate enough to try the Gyno stuff on it!|||You either have ezcema or you have something that you are extremely allergic to in your house that you touch everyday.... think back to when the rash started... did you get a new pet, perfume, or change your daily routine? Do you like Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers?? If so, which color would you recommend for fair skin??

Hello everyone! I have very dry lips and have been using Vaseline, but it only works for a few hours and then it dries really bad!! It gives me like rashes on the corners of my lips... Someone told me to try Burt Bees lip balm. I have actually seen in magazines that this is the best line for making your lips smooth. I saw in their website Lip shimmers... I want to buy one to try... What color would you recommend for pale/fair skin?? I want a color that would look natural for everyday use, not a dark tone..

Thank you!!!|||The one thing I did not like was that it was sticky, like old chap stick it formed little balls on my lips. :) Hope that helped :)|||Although I have to agree with others about the sticky, waxy feeling I got from Burt's Bees. I use the Super Balm from Bee-Luscious because it's a colored balm kinda like a gloss but not sticky or waxy.

The reason you are having trouble with Vaseline is because it is petroleum jelly. Petroleum products destroy skin cells and actually dry your skin more.

Check out the Super Balm from Bee-Luscious just Google them.|||Have not used but I recommend champagne.

Don't use sunbeds!!!!|||Try the new moisurisers that have a smedgen of self tan in them they build up a gradual tan without streaking.|||its spendy but do the spray on tan, or try lotions....but watch out, cuz I think they stink...and you can't shower for like 5 hours or something......good luck!!|||my advice, pale skin is very pretty. remember back then how everyone wanted to be very pale? jsut go with pink blush, peachy eyechadows and a bronzer. dont go out sunbathing anymore go out and play in the sun and wear high level sunsreeen! remeber white is very pretty. asians die for white skin|||i have the sa,e prob;em so i always put on some taning / sunlotion before i go out. I f u dont have any just but any skin lotion a while before you leave the house itll give u a li tan and wont give sun berns but becareful most ppl who have sensetive skin usuall have allergies to certain product for example im alergic to som lotions and some creams|||Well, if natural sun light just makes you burn, then tanning beds will to, so don't waste your money. My suggestion is to try the new Natural Glow lotion plus sunless tanner from Jergens (i think that's it), it gradually gives you a tan summer glow and it really does work, i use it myself!|||try johnson %26amp; johnson holliday skin! gradually build it. It may look patchy at fiirst but if you use it for a few days it will end up gorgeous.

dont sunbake! the average age for skin cancer these days is the 20s and 30s! it used to be 40s and 50s! soon it will be the teens!|||If you aren't able to be out in the sun, you will probably have an even worse reaction from a tanning bed! You should try other self-tanning products - it is the only safe way to get a tan. The Neutragena Build-A-Tan product (you can find it just about anywhere) works pretty good - I'm very fair and it gives just enough color. Good luck!|||go to a taning bed.|||There is a thing called "California Tan," which is a spray on tan. You go to a tanning salon where a professional sprays it on you. It looks natural, and lasts for about a week and a half. I have done it before and was very pleased with the results.|||Jergens Natural Glow for fair skin. I am a red head with very pale skin and this makes me look tan not orange.|||Alot of the self tanners are better now than they used to be. There are alot of new lotions out with some self tanners in them. Jergens and Oil of Olay both have them out. If you are really desperate, Some tanning places have the spray on tans!|||Hi, I think you might want to try the self tanners again. However, you must and I mean make sure you exfoliate with a loofa or some sort of soap that has exfoliating properties. Use a circular motion and then back and forth. Go over your knees, elbows and ankles last. That should do the trick and be sure if you use it on your face to wipe off your eyebrows.|||I am the same way and until this year I couldn't find a sunless tanner worth anything- try jergen's for pale skin. It's about $6-7 at Wal-Mart and works well over a couple of days. If you want to go darker you put it on each day, I find that 3 days and then not putting it on for a few days gives me a nice realistic color. No one will believe if I'm nice and brown, but the shade this one gives is a nice color without looking fake. I don't go to tanning beds, either burn or get nothing, and my dad has skin cancer, scariest thing I've ever seen, so I try not to get too much sun. The cool thing with the sunless tanner stuff is that you can still use a good sunblock so you don't get the rashes and no one will know it's not real.|||try the new spray on tan. you can get the procedure at a spa/salon, and since you are paying for the service they have to do a non splotchy job and the person applying it should be a professional.

Tanning in the sun will mke you splotchy- it happens to a friend of mine who is really pale, but the spray tan worked very well for her

- good luck

I'm sure you can find a local salon who offers spa lines that should have one|||Some people, including myself, are very attracted to pale skin on the opposite sex. I think it's really sexy. You don't need to get a tan if it's because you're afraid of insults. Screw them. I bet you're gorgeous the way you are.|||Don't worry about getting a tan. That so-called "healthy glow" is your skin's response to damage caused by UV rays. A deep, dark tan means that someone has done a lot of damage to their skin. It means that their hide will look like crumpled paper by the time they're 40; people will mistake them for being at least 10 years older than they really are. And if you have pale fair skin, you'll damage it that much quicker.

Unless you want to be mistaken for your grandmother, that is.|||Fake it fake it fake it!! sunbeds can be quite good but with all the products you nedd to go with it to keep it safe it is only worth it if you are going to do it as a regular thing. I would recomend going to a salon and having an airbrush tan or if you want a cheaper option the loreal summer skin tanning lotion is supposed to be good, my an even cheaper alternative is avon. It works just as well if not better than the loreal one. Just make sure you exfoliate before applying to prevent streaking! Hope this (very long winded!!)answer helped!|||u need to exfoliate all over first then get good fake tan and put it on u might need to practise so do your legs first til you get it right then at least u can wear trousers or jeans if u need to cover up the mistakes? or u could pay for someone professional to put 1 on for you?|||I saw someone not too long ago with a shirt that said, "Pale is the new tan". Why do you want to change the color of your skin? Just be yourself and don't worry about what other people say! Being pale is just as cool as having a tan! SMILE ;) (: and love yourself!|||Protect your pale skin from UV rays of all sorts, even from tanning beds. People who burn easily have less melanin in their skin which is the pigment which darkens the skin in tanning. It offers some protection from skin damage. Repeated burns puts pale people at a higher risk of skin cancer. So slap on some sunscreen, put on your hat, and keep your beautiful pale skin.|||I know how you feel, and people telling you to be proud of it doesn't really help at all. It doesn't help when people keep pointing it out either, because then you feel even more concious of it.

Anyway, I would suggest using a tan accelerater, there aren't very many in the UK, but Mainland Europe stocks a lot, so you could try eBay; I have Decleor Tan Accelerater, I don't know if it works yet, because it hasn't been sunny enough where I am, or you could get a fake tan done professionally.

Tan Acclerators make the melanin in your skin come up quicker, and melanin is what makes your skin tan. Also if you're going to use fake tan, you need to exfoliate thoroughly, and then moistourise, it makes everything even out. Some fake tans will look different on different people, so use testers first.|||I had a bit of tanning troubles myself. If I were you I'd stick with the pale skin. If you really don't like it , then try the lotions with subtle self-tanners. Rough skin like your knees tend to turn oranger so rub them out really well so you don't get patches. Be careful with self-tanners because if your not its completely embarrassing. It's risky business!|||I'm also really white. I'm able to tan but I prefer self tanner because they don't cause cancer or wrinkles like the sun can. If you burn easily in the sun, then a tanning bed probably isn't for you, plus those things are worse than the sun.

I like Loreal Sublime glow. It goes on with a tinted color so you can see to rub out any streaks. Before you use any self tanner, give your body a good scrubbing to get rid of the dead skin or else the tan could turn out blotchy. Put a little regular lotion on the tops of your feet and hands before putting tanner on those parts. I found that helps it to look natural. I apply the tanner on the tops of hands with a cotton ball or makeup sponge after washing tanner off of my palms.

For beginners, those gradual glow lotions out now work great. They give you a little bit of color. Jergen's Natural glow is an example of a good one.|||buy spray on tan%26lt; not cheap ones though|||I reccomend Jhonsonsnatuarlly soft...Holiday skin body lotion.

You apply it every night or day and the colour builds up over a period of time leaving you with a natural looking tan. It smells nice too-bonus.

Othere brands are also bringing out products like these so i would look around first before you buy. You need to try it out frot yourself really because everyones kin is different.

My friend used it and i personally think it made her look dirty but i used it and is has given me a healthy glow.

Hpe this helps ;-)|||Try this Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Foam. This is the best that I've found. It doesn't leave you orange and steaky. I LOVE this stuff!!

For 2 months my bulldog has smelled the worst smell ever.not his skin.Baths dont help.Anyone got any answers?

my english bulldog cartman is 9(a year past the average death age for an english bulldog)He has always been healthy(only two times in his life he has been sick.Rashes over his stomach during two summers. The vet said each time they were just allergic reactions so they gave us antibiotics and benadryl and he was fine in 2 days)He is slow and sleeps all of the time because he is a very old bulldog. However if you ever want to get him riled up you can just wrestle him and he will seem like a young adult pit bull. You just have to iniciate it.But two months ago he started smelling so bad.The vet gave us the same pills as before even though he DID NOT HAVE RED SKIN.He has red eyes and just smells BAD.It is indescribible.I saw on that MTV show and heard that when bulldogs eat meat bones they get stuck in them instead of coming out and it causes smell. The smell is coming from his behind but also from everywhere else on his body. That is what confuses me.Baths dont help!Does anyone know what to do|||this supplement should be of help, and good for hm too%26gt; http://springtimeinc.com/product/88/2

I am sure the vet would have already ruled out the anal sacs, so the problem is surely from the inside out..I would try the supplement.|||You may need to have your vet check his anal glands. They will get full and kind of leak, and the fluid smells metallic and like rotten fish.|||If you don't brush a dogs teeth they can carry a bacteria all over their body that cause a horrible odor, many people think that expressing the anal gland of an animal can help with odor also.|||you might need to go and let the vet express his anal glands....it is the worst smell you can ever imagine.....Call your vet and ask them about getting some information about it or go looking for it on the internet.....good luck|||i have a basset hound and i know if there ears are dirty in side places we cant see her whole body smells.this could happen with any dog.go to the pet store and get ear cleaner.this might help.|||It may be a dental issue. or He may need his anal glands expressed (not a pretty job....vet usually will do this).|||Take him to the vet. It could be his ears. Breeds with tight ears like that are more likely to develop an ear infection. Also, it could be his anal glands. When they're full they smell absolutely disgusting. It's a very unique smell, too, not like poo or dirtiness.

Get it checked out.|||It could be his ears, try mixing in even amounts of water, peroxide and vinegar. Put a couple of drops in his ear for five days. If it is his ears you should smell the difference within the second day.|||Please see a vet before you put your dog on a supplement. That is not to say that the answerer who talked about a supp. is wrong or misinformed, but just that it is better to consult a vet before changing your dog's diet. Perhaps the vet has advice on administration of this supplement, or can reccommend a similar product. If the product can not hurt your dog, then there is no harm in asking the vet. In addition, if after you consult the vet you decide to use the product anyway, that is comletely your choice. So please do the responsible thing and consult your vet first.

Another thing that confuses me... you are considering the possibility that your dog has not passed "meat bones" and so he smells. YOU SHOULD NOT FEED YOUR DOG BONES under any circumstances. It is unhealthy and can cause blockage or perforation of internal organs. If you do this, STOP IMMEDIATELY.|||Might have impacted Anal Glands - Take to vet, they can empty glands ( very easy procedure -non invasive )

What is the best deoderant to use for sensitive skin?

I get painful rashes under my arms sometimes and right now I use old spice red. Whats is the most sensitive deoderant that does not irritate the skin?|||Dr. Nathan says spend the extra penny and find some deoderant with all natural ingredients, do not use gel or any kind of old spice it will give u the irritated skin and will not get rid of the stink, look on the back of the deoderant and avoid aluminum zirconium, major factor in causing rashes with deoderant comes from the aluminum in your deoderant.

My breasts are large and the skin is always red. How can I fix this?

it's almost like a rash, but it doesnt hurt or itch. My ob/gyn has never mentioned it, and my next appointment isnt for another few months. Im not worried b/c they have always been this way, I just want them to match the rest of the fair skinned me.|||GO TO YOUR PHYSICIAN AND SEE WHATS WRONG|||If your ob/gyn hasn't said anything about it, it could be that it's not a concern or that she didn't notice. The best thing to do is make an appointment with your family doctor and ask him/her to take a look.

It could be serious, or it could simply be eczema or rosacea. Rosacea is a skin condition that normally occurs on the face but can occur on the breasts-you may see redness, multiple tiny veins where the redness is.

If the area gets redder when you're hot or in the shower, it's most likely eczema, rosacea or something similar. The only way to tell for sure, though, is to talk to your doctor.

For now, try rubbing a thick, unscented moisturizing cream on your breasts in the morning and at bedtime. If it's the eczema, that may help.|||It sounds like chafing

What to feed a cat whose hair and skin seem a bit dry?

I have a six-year-old female cat. Spayed. Her hair and skin feel drier than my other three cats' does.

She will eat ONLY dry food. The others eat a combination of

It smells really fishy and you can either squirt a little in your cat's mouth or mix with a little of her dry food.

When I fed Hairball food to my cats, I noticed that their hair got pretty oily so, that may help.|||It could be the time of year if you are running heat in your house. Also some cats are just softer than others like people they are all different.

What are Parabens? How do they affect the skin?

A 20year-old young woman has been diagonised as allergic to parabens. She has acne on her face and has been taking treatment to control this. She applies moisturiserand sunsceen.Of late she has developed red rashes, especially around the mouth ,apart from which she has severe itching on her face .Is it because of a medicine called Isoace[not sure about the spelling] which was administered for 6 months? She was asked to apply moisturiser liberally to counter the dryness. She is now really despondent .will her skin become normal?|||Parabens are a group of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas. These compounds, and their salts, are used primarily for their bacteriocidal and fungicidal properties. They can be found in shampoos, commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, cleansing gels, personal lubricants, topical/parenteral pharmaceuticals and toothpaste. They are also used as food additives.

Their efficacy as preservatives, in combination with their low cost, their long history of safe use—at least to the extent that scientific studies have not proven they are harmful—and the unproven efficacy of natural ingredients like grapefruit seed extract (GSE),probably explains why parabens are so commonplace. They are becoming increasingly controversial, however, and some organizations which adhere to the precautionary principle object to their everyday use.

Chemistry

Parabens are esters of para-hydroxybenzoic acid, from which the name is derived. Common parabens include methylparaben (E number E218), ethylparaben (E214), propylparaben (E216) and butylparaben. Less common parabens include isobutylparaben, isopropylparaben, benzylparaben and their sodium salts. The general chemical structure of a paraben is shown at top right, where R symbolizes an alkyl group such as methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl.

Occurrence

Some parabens are found naturally in plant sources such as methylparaben from the fruit of the blueberry shrub, where it acts as an antimicrobial agent.

Synthesis

All commercially used parabens are synthetically produced, although some are identical to those found in nature. They are produced by the esterification of para-hydroxybenzoic acid with the appropriate alcohol. para-Hydroxybenzoic acid is in turn produced industrially from a modification of the Kolbe-Schmitt reaction, using potassium phenoxide and carbon dioxide.

Toxicology

Parabens are considered to be safe because of their low toxicity profile and their long history of safe use; however, a few recent controversial studies have begun to challenge this view. Studies on the acute, subchronic, and chronic effects in rodents indicate that parabens are practically non-toxic. Parabens are rapidly absorbed, metabolized, and excreted The major metabolites of parabens are p-hydroxybenzoic acid (pHBA), p-hydroxyhippuric acid (M1), p-hydroxybenzoyl glucuronide (M3), and p-carboxyphenylsulfate (M4).

Allergic reactions

In individuals with normal skin, parabens are, for the most part, non-irritating and non-sensitizing. Parabens can, however, cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis in individuals with paraben allergies, a small percentage of the general population

Is green tea good for your skin?

im getting like terrible rashes due to the cold weather, my friend recommended green tea... idk is it really good for your skin?|||Some will say no and others will say yes.

Personally I've had good results with green tea. I swapped from coffee to green tea a few months ago and my skin cleared up a lot, but is still not perfect.

It's obviously worth a try. There are lots of thoughts out there regarding green tea, but in terms of health/nutrition I believe it is one of the better beverages to have. I read somewhere that Green Tea has 1 calorie in it and that it burn 67 calories just by drinking it.

What kind of ingriedient in shampoo or conditioner can cause a bumpy rash on the back of arms?

I started getting these rashes on my arm a couple years ago and there not red or anything just makes my skin really bumpy,,,,,, and then someone told me that they you used to have in and they started to use dove shampoo and conditioner. and i used it and it worked for about a year and now for no reason its come back and im still not using anything but that dove soap stuff.......and i dont know what could be causing this?|||I have had a similar problem with shampoo or conditioner residue. The problem appeared suddenly and seemed like an itchy , bumpy rash that was primarily on my scalp but that slowly spread to my back, upper chest and shins (where the residue would rinse off in the shower). After many trips to the dermatologist for a about a year and subsequent rounds of the oral steroid, prednisone (which would make the symptoms disappear only while I took the drug but allowed them to reappear as soon as I stopped) my doctor told me to use Free %26amp; Clear. It is expensive but can be ordered through the internet. After awhile of using this product I went back to using regular shapoo and conditioner. A few years later the problem came back and I needed a short course of prednisone first and went back to Free %26amp; Clear for awhile.

Your bumps are probably an allergy you've developed. I would try Free and CLear and if it doesn't work, I would see a dermatologist to try a round of prednisone (its not good for you so they don't like to keep you on it for a long time).

Good luck.
