I have new carpet allergy, and treating it externally, can I also treat it internally?

I am experiencing skin rash, headaches, and coughing. We are starting to use more ventilation and will get an air purifier but until that starts to work I wanted to know if I can treat this internally as well, esp because of the rash and upper respiratory irritation.|||Perhaps with a shot, %26amp;/or inhaller.|||You are probably experiencing a reaction to the formaldehyde in the carpet which takes time to dissipate. All household textiles contain that in their manufacture.|||Patty: Most carpets are treated with formaldehyde. This is the same chemical used in embalming! I am send a link about the danger of this chemical. Unfortunately it is commonly used in many building materials. A normal HEPA filter will not remove formaldehyde off-gassing. You can try to absorb the formaldehyde out of the carpet by treating the carpet with zeolite powder. Zeolite is a mineral that not only adsorbs odors, it also absorbs many chemicals. Zeolites have been used for years in cleaning up toxic spills. You can do a simple search for zeolite powder and see who in your area carries it. It is frequently used by people that are chemically sensitive. In addition, I am including a link for a special air cleaner that contains carbon and zeolite and is made for the absorbtion of formaldehyde. It is also commonly used by people with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) as it works well not only on particles, but chemical gasses. It is called the HealthMate+. As it says, "The HealthMate+™ offers a superior gas filtration system to remove a wide range of chemical vapors. Specifications identical to standard HealthMate models, except for additional filter treatment, Potassium Iodide, to give higher effectiveness rating in removal of formaldehyde and ammonia. Designed primarily for individuals with acute sensitivities." -their words not mine

Until you get rid of those chemicals, there is not an herb on earth that is going to make you better.
