um.. for about a week i had very itchy labia that were red and irritated, and burned when i touched it. there weren't any blisters or anything like that. i had a lot of odorless discharge.. the symptoms disappeared right away as soon as my period came (3 days ago) but now i have a dry skin rash (dry skin with tiny red bumps) on my genitals, buttocks and on my left breast and knee. anyone know what is causing this? im going to the doctor soon but i want some opinions|||If, now I express if, it is HSV (herpes simplex virus), it may present as a recurrent genital diseas with ashorter duration and less sever than the priamry episode. In approximately 50% of patients, the recurrences are preceded by a characteristeic prodrome (feeling of an onset of a cold or symptoms before the main manifestation of the disease) of burning or tingling in the area in which the lesions eventually erupt. Episodes of recurrence may be as frequent as every 2 to 3 weeks or may be infrequent. Unfortunately, any infected person may shed virus asymptomatically. Such individuals may be important vectors (spreaders or hosts doe the illness) for the virus.
What you are describing, if (stress on if) it is herpes, it is most likely herpes gladitorium where the infection is over a large surface of the body . . . but this is usually associated with rugby or wrestling, or even if the person's sexual partner is experiencing symptoms or shedding of the virus at the time of contact.
To explain the odor . . . well that is why I think it may be something else. Go see a doctor immediately.
