Photo sensitive skin!?
a year ago i had visited a doc to get rid of my acne problem. he had prescribed monolox tablets(its a antibiotic) for 3 months. my pimples went off. but i started to get these red itichy rashes on my hands when i went out in sun. he said that my skin has become photo sensitive because of those tablets. he also told that the problem will go away within few months.anyways the problem dint go. i get rashes whenever i go out in sun since then.but now after 1 year, the problem has become more. yesterday i went out in sun, and now i have got lots and lots of rashes on my hands. rashes doesnt come on my face or legs , it only comes on my hands. i dont put any sun screen lotion. neither on my face nor on my hands. has the problem turned out to be something serious?|||hey supp... well i have never experienced this before... i suggets u to go to doctor to help you with ur allergy... u should sue ur dermatologist cus he is a dumb ***..how could he prescribe u something that will give a side effect. Btw in my case.. i used acne products contained of benzoyl peroxide such as proactive and clearasil but it caused my face became so red and itchy especially when i go out in the sun. I stopped using these products for almost a year.... and it still red....but i used clinique for oily skin... my face is not red and oily anymore. However, im still haveing problem with my acne. Well since u have problem on your hand... im not sure if clinique could help... so i guess maybe the best way to do is to check ur self to the doctor.... not the dumb one please.. go to the smart one.... i know im not helping... but i hope u will get better|||Hello there,
I would stop taking the acne medicine right away, Go to wal- mart and buy over the counter acne treatment gel and wipes. I have really bad acne too, but Clearasil does the Job for me, it should do the job for you too.
Sincerely, P.S. alot of medicine should just be avoided and this is one prime example why. good luck|||If you stopped taking the medicine a year ago, I doubt that it would still be causing the photosensitivity.
However there are other skin conditions where you can get a rash or itching after sun exposure. I'd go to a dermatologist to get this checked out.
In the meanwhile consider wearing sunscreen, at least SPF 25, to try to prevent breaking out.

Tile rash on my dog's elbows. Any thing to be conserned about?
We have a tile kitchen and my dog likes to lay down on the floor and she is beggining to show rashes on her elbows from the rubing of the tile on her skin. Is this a serous thing?|||Will just callous - not so serious. Maybe you should get her a bed/pillow/blanket to lie on.|||Often called "kennel elbow" it is not life threatening but sometimes can be uncomfortable for the dog.
Get some type of pad for her to lay on and give it some time the swelling and rash should disapper with time.
Some dogs are not bothered by it at all and nothing needs to be done.
My one weimaraner got it and her elbow swelled so she now lays on a pad and it is back to normal.|||No, it is just a callus.

Has anyone ever gotten skin reactions from stress, like acne, or boils, or rashes?
Poor diet, overload on sugar, junk foods and processed foods like fast foods have alot of chemicals in them as with the clothing most of us buy not even looking at the tag or we just think because it feels nice it must be nice.NOT TRUE! Synthetics is the leading cause of yeast infections and athletes foot.Your sneakers are lined with it which causes feet to overheat as well as those with blended panties or even pants,of all types, will have spandex, rayon, polyester etc.some 100% and some blended but the blends still cause boils, rash, all types of skin problems.Theres more to this check out sites I have listed.Hope this helps.|||I have definitely had pimples due to stress, yes.|||yeah, I get rashes and hives and break out too, when I'm under too much stress.|||yes stress can cause so people to have skin problems acne, pimples or rash.|||I tend to be stressed with PMS and that then causes stress and hormonal acne.
I just implement some acne creams in to my regime.
Or do a mask - (I try to do one once a week anyway)
Stress does not help the skin! We break down mentally, or get tired and everything goes down hill. (can induce hives, or a break out)!|||Yup. My friend gets cold sore breakouts when she's stressed out, and I knew someone that would get rashes. Stress really can cause quite a change in your body's system, so I think developing acne would certainly be a possibility too.|||yes|||Normally I have a pretty nice head of hair, but not too long ago, stress caused me to lose so much hair that I started looking like donald trump. It wasn't pretty. Stress is nasty. Fortunately everything's back to normal!|||I have contact dermatitis (skin allergies, so when I'm exposed to what I'm allergic to I break out into itchy hives), but when I'm stressed I tend to have a flare up, as well. For me, it starts on my upper chest, getting really itchy and the hives start showing up, then on my arms, around my shoulders and elbows. I hate it, because if it starts flaring up and I can't get it under control FAST, I have to go to the doctor and get a cortisol shot. Sometimes just a little benadryl creme will make it go away, but usually I need a shot...|||My daughter gets all three , often at the same time. Good luck to you!

How can I tell the difference between dry skin and scabies?
It has been very cold for a long time and the air is dry, but I was possibly exposed to scabies by a friend a few weeks ago. I am itching like crazy! Especially when I am finishing my shower every evening. When I get out of the shower I have red, blotchy rashes on my body, but they go away as my skin cools. What would you do?|||The previous posters are mostly correct. Scabies will be most prominent in the folds and creases of your body. Additionally, the lesions will not appear blotchy as your have. Rather, they will leave a distinct zig-zag scarring pattern on your skin where the organism burrows itself.
I agree that you may be having a sensitivity issue with your soap or a cosmetic product. I recommend that you discontinue the use of all of your cosmetics and buy new soaps. If this doesn't correct your problem see a doctor for sensitivity testing.|||Dry skin (for me anyway) does not itch. It improves with lotion.
I think I would see a Dermatologist. Scabies is a mite that gets under the skin. I really do not know how it should be treated. Probably with prescriptions.|||Scabies normally appears between the fingers in creases. It sounds like your problem is an allergy, possibly to your soap or shampoo|||I thougt I had scabies, so i went to the hospital, late night. There the doctor told me to use lice shampoo on my skin. Use at night before going to bed. Rub shampoo into skin, let dry. Wash off next morning. The doctor stated scabies are just like lice. I don't know how true it is but you can ask a doctor. Fortunately I found out that was not what i had.|||I would go see a doctor.

Why do i break out in random rashes throughout the day?
For the last few years I'll go through a period of time when I just break out in weird skin rashes/hives through out the day. Its totally random, out of no where i'll break out in huge pink rash on random parts of my skin. They rarely itch but its embassing having big rashes swell all of a sudden. Could I be allergic to something or what?|||Stress was the first possibility I thought of. It tends to exacerbate things like eczema.
I'd see a dermatologist. This actually reminds me of a friend of mine who would sometimes have sudden hives that would appear and disappear on her skin for minutes at a time. In her case I think it may have been related to an autoimmune disease.|||sounds like you are allergic to your clothing...go to the doctor|||Just in case you are taking some tablets just stop them and just see the effect .
If you are getting rashes after eating a particular type of vegetable even stop that .
Or if nothing works out consult a dermatologist(Skin specialist) .
